今回のシリーズは、メメントモリ、世界を覆う不安を表現しています。
人間を含む生き物にとって、厳しい冬を乗り越えた春は寒さに耐えたのちに
待ち望んだ楽しい季節である筈ですが、人間を取り巻く環境は、経済や紛争、自然破壊により世界
はどんどんと不安定で生きづらくなっていて、Bad Spring を迎えた気がしています。
しかし厳しい社会の中で人間が苦しんでいても、自然は人間によって受けた傷を癒し、より輝きを
放って、人間を乗り越えてきます。
最終的には我々は死に、自然に飲み込まれ大地に還ることになります。
メメントモリ。

「わかめライダー」はサーフィンで学んだ事柄からインスピレーションを得て、

波の動きとスピードを抽象化した彫刻として制作しました。
時に海は人間を無慈悲に弄ぶ存在となることを誰もが知っています。
人間にとってのサーフィンは、短い時間の波乗りであっても波が勝つこともあるという、

自然と人間の関係性が明らかになる風刺的なテーマであると考えます。

それは自然と人間の闘い、バランスを描く一つの物語です。
